BO Polestar - Source

Hi all,

What is source for BO Polestar , I meas to say there is only Universe is source for BO Polestar ,

can't do with Web Intelligence Report ?

Hi Redeppa,

correct: you can only use universes as sources for your Polestar workspace. But webI reports also require a universe as a source. So there is not real difference there.

ok. but some calculation which are done in WeBi reports is not possible in Polestar , am I correct ?

Atleast we can't t take any files like (xls , CSV ) as source

Hi you can build universe on top of your XLS , CSV files. Since you can add more than one universes in your Polestar workspace I do not see a problem there.

If you want to merge the data from your CSV and XLS files with your DB/DWH data in one universe then you should consider using the Data Federator product. You can build a universe on top of the DF source, which merges your data data, and use this as one of the sources for your polestar workspace.
