connect to AS400 V5R3M0 with PI

I need to connect to AS400 V5R3M0 with PI, we have installed PI on W2003 with Oracle and we need to extract information from an AS400; I need to set up some sort of OS RFC, I am looking for documentation of this type of work, someone has experience in this type of configiraciones?

I have to connect an AS400 with an SAP system, the AS version is V5R3M0; need to extract information from the files, if a common database with a DB2 UDB type is simple, JDBC resolved, but SO you see all this as I Files complicated, basically I need is to draw information from SAP in a manner similar to a database but from the archives

As400 comes with a standard installation of DB2 UDB built into it.

Also can you clarify the question.
