posting only possible in periods 2006/05 and 2006/04 for company code 1000

Can someone help please.

i have tried checking all the resources on this forum but no solution.

I tried to post a goods issue and this error comes up.

Posting on possible in periods 2006/05 and 2006/04 for company code 1000

I checked current period MMRV and also tried to close period for material master records MMPV.

- entered company code 1000

-entered current period - 05

- entered current year - 2009

But i am having a pop up - incorrect period in control rec. of cocd 1000; no conversion.

I also tried to close it period by period from 05/2006, but

I am having error - the specified year 2006 is not the current calender year.

Please help.

Hi

Welcome to SDN

As you have to start closing from 2006 which means you have to do 36 times in MMPV

There is a shot cut to achieve this

1. In OX18 please remove that plant company code assignments

2. In OMSY change the period to the current period

3. Again In OX18 please assign that plant and company code

4. In OMWD assign the valuation grouping code to the plant once again

As you know this a MM error if still the problem persists you need to take the help of MM colleagues like if the error is once again the specified year 2006 is not the current calender year.

If you give this advice I think you should warn the adviced party about the possible consequences of this advice. I mean the steps described by you can lead to inconsistencies!

Please check OSS note 487381.

For period closing with initialization, the system displays a message saying that period closing cannot be started.
Before you start period closing with initialization, you must be aware of the consequences of period closing with initialization.This note describes the possible data inconsistencies that might occur if you carry out the initialization in a productive system.The resulting inconsistencies are not to be traced back to a system error but they are a result of the period closing program with initialization.
Hence, these inconsistencies can only be corrected within the remote consulting purchased separately since normally you no longer need to start the period closing program with initialization in a release > Rel. 4. 5.

You are correct

But friends who come with this error with period closing like this they are definately learning only

Having an error in the production system like this is less likely to happen and moreover if anyone is stuck with this error then it is the MM consultant who has to address this (what i mean is, this will not come in SD forum at all)

Thanks a lot Guys.

I had to change to period and year on the system to 2006/05.

Than started to close each period from 2006/05 as well as changing system date till I got to the current 2009/05.

Now I believe I can post goods issue to the current period.

Your "error" is warning message in standard system...you can just hit the enter key...that's all.

You have to go step-by-step: close the period 2006/05 first, then 2006/07, etc.
