configuring Product Hierarchies

Hi Sathya,

Can maintenance of Product Hierarchy be done outside of configuration? We are looking to allow the users to maintain the product hierarchy but do not want to give them access to configuration. Have you seen this done?

Prodcut Hierarchy helps in defining the product composition. it is Alpha numeric string with three levels

0001000200030004 total 18 charchters.

Standard Structure is 5 -5 -8

00001 - represents Ball Bearings

00002 - repersents the Usage and dimensions

00000003 - represents the roller-Bearing

So when you are using a product Ball bearing for pricing in sales, it takes all these parameters under consideration. When Prodcut hierarchy ismaintained .

We can also arise error message or warning message in VOV8 details screen under transaction flow heading.

Configuration is carried out in IMG --> Logistics General --> Material Master --> Settings for Key Fields --> Data Relevant to sales and Distribution --> Define product Hierarchies --> Click Maintenance product hier archies - Tcode - Transaction V/76

Click new entries and maintain it.

For using it for analysis purpose (Costing based or Accounting based) use Tcode KES1
