Change Management Configuration

Hi,

I need to configure change mangement for our ECC live server. Can we do this configuration without affecting the current STMS configuration? As this is a live server we cannot go for a downtime in between the configration.

Can anyone have any appropriate document as per the above requirement. I have already configured service desk on solution manager server.

Hi,

When you configure ChaRM, it will definitely affect your existing STMS of ECC system. The TRs created needs to be assigned to a project (By Default). But this can be bypassed by making a setting in SE03.

SE03 --> Display/Change Request Attributes (SAP_CTS_PROJECT) you can make it obligatory here.

This actually controls if project assignment is mandatory for that system/client.

This setting needs to be done in your ECC System.

For configuring STMS for ChaRM you just need to follow the SPRO setting. Note that all STMS configuration for ChaRM needs to be performed in your ECC system only.

Hi ragu,

I have activated all teh BC sets required for Charm in solution manger system. Now what we need to do. Do we create a change management request in solution manger only or do we create transprt request through solution manger.

Hi Bhanu,

for the changes which need to be done to the TMS configuration you may have a look at customizing section "Transport Management System" beneath "Change Request Management".

Have a look for IMG activity SOLMAN_CM_TMS_GENERL to get to the right section.

Also for activating ChaRM in your Sol Man you should just follw the IMG activities for that section.

You do not need a seperate document, just use the information provided in the IMG for each customizing acitvity.
