DB2_WORKLOAD=SAP

Hello,

We've upgraded DB2 from V7 to V8.2 FP10, but we've not converted indexes to type-2 yet. Because we don't have time to do that.

Is there any negative impact if we set DB2_WORKLOAD=SAP with type-1 indexes?

Regards,

Masako

Hi.

I did V7 -> V8 FP9 used DB2_WORKLOAD=SAP but without converting the indexes to type 2 in the first place.

My experince is that it ran without any problems.

Regards, John.

Hi Masoko,

if you are using type 1 indexes you loose some DB2 functionality like online reorg. In DB2 V9 type 1 indexes are deprecated by DB2 and SAP with V9 will not support them any more. Also on V8 all SAP internal tests are done with type 2 indexes.

I suggest to migrate the indexes over time. You do not neccessarily have to do the migration in one step.
