Hi! Experts:
I have 2 questions:
1) what the RTA will do in java systems
2) what is the countpartner of RTA in abap systems?
Thanks!
Hi Christy,
RTA is not for JAVA systems. RTA is the counterpart of JAVA system in ABAP. RTA is installed in the ABAP system. The JAVA system interacts with R/3 backend through RTA.
Hope this makes it clear.

Hi Christy,
RTA (Real-time agent) means BAPI module which gets installed on SAP R/3 (on ABAP stack) and helps AC 5.3 (Java Front-end) to provision users/roles, do real-time risk analysis, run SPM (Firefigter) etc.
Here is the response to your questions:
1) what the RTA will do in java systems?
There is no RTA in java system. SAP has introduced eRTA (Enterprise RTA) for Java systems in Access Control 5.3. eRTA has almost similar functionality (limited in scope) as RTA.
2) what is the countpartner of RTA in abap systems?
RTA is for ABAP system and eRTA is for Java system.

Hi Christy,
RTA will be installed in ABAP system like other patches using SPAM or SAINT which is a communicator between ABAP system and GRC AC system.
There are two type of RTA you need to install, HR and Non-HR RTA.
Here is the example of RTA installed in my system,
S/W Component Naming Connv(Highest SP Level) Description
VIRSAHR SAPK-53205INVIRSAHR SAP GRC Access Controls 5.3 for HR Syste
VIRSANH SAPK-53207INVIRSANH SAP GRC Access Controls 5.3 for 640 HR
These RTAs are for real time Risk analysis purpose.
I hope this clears you doubt.
Thanks,
Sudip.
