KeyFigure - Semantic - Infocube

Hello Friends,

I am working on APO SCM 5.0.

We are using one Key figure which comes from Legacy System.

KF flows from Legacy System --> BW Cube > APO Cube> Planning Area.

Basically KF is just use for display purpose and user do not change that KF Qty. But KF used in some Macros.

I want to change the Semantic of that KF from 000 - Livecache : Quantity to 002 - Infocube.

Questions -

1. Can I change Semantic without deactivating planning area?

2. Can I extract Semantic - 002 - Infocube to Planning area datasource?

3. What are overall advantages and disadvantages of Semantic 002 -Infocube ?

Pls share your experience.

No.

Yes.

3. What are overall advantages and disadvantages of Semantic 002 -Infocube ?

002 is cheaper in terms of LC hardware but slower in terms of response because SDP94 still has to put the data into LC, it is just that it isn't stored in LC. Find a balance. The best performance is from everything in LC, but that can be costly.

How we can take backup of Semantic 002 KF ? Actually I tried to create planning area datasource but the data is zero for Semantic 002 KF. I think its not possible to extract to planning area datasource and to take backup also.

Hi Vishal,

I have tried to take backup of semantic:002 key figure, but data is extracting properly in to backup Info Cube.

I think u did anything wrong stuff. You can check ones again.
