Automatic pricing is not carried out in the inquiry but it is carried out for the quotation.

Further,

In inquiry and quotation at item level the pricing condition exist.

The pricing data is similar in inquiry and quotation.

Why we need pricing at inquiry level.

Hi

Automatic pricing is carried out at Inquiry also

For your second qn apply simple business/ sales logics

Normally a customer enquires a to know about two things mainly

1. Does the company got the particular product which is reqd by him

2. If the product is available then what is the price

Price here means the approximate price so that the customer will have a idea

In SAP the selling compamy generates this discussion as a sales doc type as Inquiry and if the customer shows interest follows it with quotataion and then if quotation is approved then the order follows

In standard system the enquiry gets closed as soon as it is referred in a quotation

But the quotation is closed only when the full qty referred in the quote is taken by the customer in a sales order or the validity period is over for the quotation or whichever is earlier

Again this can be customized in the respective item category completion rules

Thank you very much.

Such explaination is not even found in SAP books.

There is very less explaination about IN / QT.

All discussion starts from Sales order.
