SD:Status profile for contract

Dear Friends,

I want to configure the status profile for contract with two status crtd (created) and rel (Release).please tell me how to configure the status profile and what is the significance of transaction control.

Is it possible to display the status in the contract overview screen instead of going by Goto-Header-status menu and how ?please suggest.

use t.code bs02 and create your profile as required and assign the profile to the document type. With transaction control you can control further transaction for the particular status.

Hello,

i have defined status profile for contract document by selecting object type sales order header and sales order item with status A001 to 004 and lowest and highest status no. combination as 10-40, 20-40,30-40,40-40. also defined Authorization key for it but didn't get desired result in va41 transaction. system is not restricting me for document approval or release.

please guide where i am going wrong in this process.
