Common sense tells me the answer is NO.
If so, when we restore SCM database from a backup, how to make SCM DB and LiveCache DB
synchronized?
Thanks!
Hello,
1.
For Release SCM 4.0 and higher, follow the SAP Note
886103 System Landscape Copy for SAP SCM
to do the SAP system copy.
2.
The "Backup and Recovery for SAP APO" best practices available at www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/livecache ->
Best Practices for Solution Management: mySAP SCM (SMP login required)
3.
For SAP liveCache documentation see the SAP note 767598.
"DBACOCKPIT back up LiveCache DB?" =>
Yes, you could schedule the liveCache backups using DBACOCKPIT.
More details could be found in liveCache documentation.
Please also review the SAP note::

4.
"If so, when we restore SCM database from a backup, how to make SCM DB and LiveCache DB synchronized?"
If you created/saved the liveCache databackups and set the outolog on when
liveCache was running, archived log backups. Also have the liveCache log
volumes NOT deleted/corrupted => you could recover the liveCache until the time as closest as possible to time of the SCM database recovery.
Then use the internal < //om17 >, external <//ccr > & TS consistencies check/corrections to bring the system to the consistent status.
See "Step 6.15: Check data consistency" of SAP note 886103.

Why's that?
Sure it can - integreate the liveCache instance to it and you can schedule your backups.

You'd would try to get the liveCache as near as possible to that point in time to which you recovered the SCM system and than run a consistency check (/SAPAPO/OM17).
But maybe a look to the documentation would help here...
And check note
