State min. wage for Garnishment

State of Illinois has come out with minimum hourly wage that is more

than the Federal Minimum wage. SAP does not have any constant defined

in T511K for state hourly wage. We also needed a new rule in table

T5UG4 with the characteristics 'Greater of 85% Gross or 45 times State

Min. Wage' for Illinois Creditor Garnishment. In the absence of these

we ended up using order rule /037 for order type 'CR'. But this exempts

less wages than it should based on state hourly wage limit and we end

up taking more deduction for Garnishment.

Also we do not have a different Non exempt model for Federal and State.

Please let me know how do you handle this situation in your SAP application.

Any comment/reply is appreciated.

Thanks,

Gajanan

Hello Gajanan,

Kindly refer the following link for the solution for your problem

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/wiki--> ERP Human Capital

Management>SAP HCM Payroll USA> Common Issues and Hints in PY-US

-->State Minumum Wage Greater than Federal Min wage for

Garnishment(Constant Not defined for State Min Wage).

You need to create your own Non Exempt rule in T5UG4, for that rule which used for the state of illinois you need to maintain value in Field Federal Min wage constant for the state.

With Regards,
