Hi jaswanth.k ,

We do not have an IDES for MDM as MDM is a standalone system and works little different than the std SAP systems .

However SAP has provided some demo repository with standard data model and data for newbies practice.

So if you wish to you can download and use these demo rep:

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-demomodel#section21 (Demo Rep)

http://www.inquera.com/InqueraCatalog/CustomerLogin.asp(Demo Rep from Inquera you need to register and they will mail you)

Hope It Helped

Thanks & Regards

Hi Jaswant,

After installing the MDM server, you need to work on the repositories. There can be 2 ways to do that:

1. Use the existing business content: You can use the Unarchive Feature by right clicking on the MDM server and mention the Credentials. You will then find the Un-archived repository on the MDM server. There are few business content provided by SAP such as Customer, Material, Product, Employee, Article etc.

Pre-requisite : In the installation of MDM server, go to the Archive folder, there should be .A2a files present there. If they are alrady present, then fine, otherwise, follow the path given in the previous post and download the business content and place them in the Archive Folder.

2. The other way is to create a repository with scratch by right clicking on the MDM server and Using the create option.

In MDM, when ever you create a MDM repository, there are pre-defined Tables provided such as Product table ( Main table ) and other System, objects tables etc. To know more about the MDM table types follow the link below:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdm550/helpdata/en/8e/9f9c427055c66ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm

Go to Basic Concepts->MDM repository structure-> Table Types

You can create your own additonal tables according to your needs.

Hope this info helps.

Hi Jaswanth,

You can unarchive the repositories that belong to the Business Content.

If you not already have them, you can download them in the SWDC:

http://service.sap.com/swdc

Support Packages and Patches --> SAP NetWeaver --> SAP MDM --> SAP MDM 5.5 --> Master Data Server --> MDM BUSINESS CONTENT 5.5

Then, extract the business content of choice (e.g. for material). Place the .a2a file into the archive directory of the MDM Server and unarchive it. As a result, you'll have a predefined repository, which you can also adapt to your needs.

As a side note:

These repositories do not equal the resp. tables in the ERP system. The most important fields are in there; if you need more, just add them.

Hi Ajay,

You need an S-User with the resp. access priviledges.

You can also try this direct link:

https://service.sap.com/sap/bc/bsp/spn/download_basket/download.htm?objid=012002523100000728382009D&...

Replace "<yourS-User>" with your S-User; afterwards, the download should be in your download basket.

Hope this helps!

Hi Ajay,

You're right, it looks like you don't have the proper authorization.

Please try to get the authorization. Afterwards, you should also be able to use the navigation I've described in my first post.

Best regards,

Dennis
