Hi ,

hereunder some 13 Important Facts about Customizing:

1.Changes done in IMG are placed in the customizing tables of the SAP database. The content of these tables are known as customizing data and uses it to control business processes.

2. Most Customizing data is Client-Specific.

3. However, there is also significant amount of cross-client customizing such as Factory calendar.

4. Changes to client-specific customizing objects are recorded in customizing requests.

5. Changes to cross-client customizing objects are recorded in workbench requests.

6. Unlike ABAP WoB repository objects, customizing objects entered in requests are not locked against access by other users.

7. Customizing objects do not have an original system; it is not possible to distinguish between a development and repair

8. in a Production client, the current settings are not regarded as customizing settings, but application objects. These settings are therefore independent of client management and are not controlled by the Transport Organizer.

9. If changes without automatic recording are allowed in a particular client, changes can be edited on maintenance screens without a request prompt window

10. For any changes to cross-client customizing settings, a transport Organizer dialog box appears, irrespective of any client management settings made.

11. For repository objects and cross client customizing objects,

a. If a consolidation route leading from the current system is defined in the TMS for a transport layer, then the object is recorded in a task belonging to a transportable change request.

b. If no consolidation route leading from the current system is defined in the TMS for the current transport layer, then the object is recorded in a task belonging to a local change request.

c. If the current stsem is the original system of the object, the object will be assigned to a task of the type correction.

d. If the current system is not the original system of the object, the object will be assigned to a task of the type repair.

12. For Client-specific customizing objects:

a. If a consolidation route is defined in the TMS for the standard transport layer of the system of the current client, then the object is recorded in a task belonging to a transportable customizing request.

b. If no consolidation route leading from the current system is defined in the TMS for the standard transport layer of the system or the current client, then the object is recorded in a task belonging to a customizing request without transport target.

13. The customizing request in SAP system are either all transportable or all local, depending on the system setting.

I hope this information will be of little help for you.

regards

Krishna
