What is FormCalc

Hi Guys,

I need to do a .pdf where there is an Image Field on. The actual URL for the image needs to be decided dynamically.

I found some code for this, but it seems like the scripting code needs to be added as "FormCalc". I am new to all of this and I do not know what "FormCalc" is.

Please help!

Hi Christiaan,

Adobe Live Cycle Designer provides a set of tools that enables to build intelligent

business documents and forms. The form developer can incorporate calculations and scripting to create a richer experience for the recipient of the form.

To facilitate the creation of calculations, LiveCycle Designer provides users with FormCalc.

FormCalc is a simple calculation language created by Adobe.

FormCalc is simple and accessible for those with little or no scripting experience.

It also follows many rules and conventions common to other scripting languages, so experienced form developers will find their skills relevant to using FormCalc.

You can use the Form Calc in ADLC by selecting the option in Palettes->Script Editor.

In the Pane above your Design View where you have Design View, Master Page etc. You can see the Script editor.

Once you select any field present on your form (like an input field or anything) select the on event value from "Show" and select the Language as "FormCalc".
