Dear All,

Can someone share their experiences on choosing the appropriate method for generating proportional factors, whether to go for fixed proportions OR detailed proportions?

Regards,

Kedar

Hi,

Before finalizing the method you should understand the logic of Fixed Proportion & detailed proportion.

In fixed proportion System does Average of history of defined period in MC8V program.

E.g If you have choosen last 5 periods history to calculate PF of Next period then system does calculate in following manner.

Product P1

Period P.01 P.02 P.03 P.04 P.05 P.06

History 100 200 300 400 500

PF 300

In Detailed Proportion System does calculate PF in very critical manner. This logic also very difficult to understand.

So if you want to calculate PF for one period then you can choose Fixed Proportion.

& if you know the logic to calculate PF then you can create macro also.

E.g. If i want to calculate PF for period P.05 & i want use history to calculate PF in following way

P.04 Gives 50% waitage, P.03 gives 30%, P.02 gives 15% & P.01 gives 5 % waitage then in that case you use macro.

Hope this will help you.
