production using netwrok order

Hi expert,

can anybody give me the detail steps for production planning using only network and activity.

i just want to know, whether the production  is  possible only with PS network ,
without PP(planned order and production order).

in which scenario we will prefer this scenario

Hi,

When you attach a material to a Network Activity as Item Cat L,system will create Reservation for that Material.When you run MRP system will create a planned order or a PR depending on Material Type Whether the material is meant for in house prod or external procurement E & F.Finally Planned order will be converted into Prod order and PR into PO.

Hi,

There is two ways.

1) You can plan for the material everything in PS Network & Activity & from there you can run the MRP & it will convert in to Planned order then it will convert to production order & you can excute the production & once complete you settle to Project & project settled to any material or asset.

2) Create the PS network & Activity as the production order,create the workcenter with the Activity as 6 standard value key is posssible with one workcenter.The PS network activity will do confirmation & material consumption as same as production order,once the jod is complete then settle the network & activity to Material that you produced.

Hi Ashish,

Your mentioned scenario is done if there are very few work centers involved in the manufacturing of the component in the unit. There are 4 types of activities

1. External activity

2. Internal activity

3. Cost activity and

4. Service activity

Depending upon the business scenario the type of activities are assigned. The work center assignment is done in internal acitivity only and routing of the same is done.

So all the thing that are done in PP can be done here in PS also. But if the number of activities are more then it is always suggestted to go for PP then PS.
