How do I create a custom preferences dialog?

I was reading some articles here about creating custom preferences dialogs. Most of what I was reading looked like it pertained to JAVA and not .NET. Does anyone have any experience in creating custom preference screens or know of any good references you can point me toward?

Hi,

you would be able to start on my last reply on thread.

Basically you need to create a portal service that enable writing and reading from & to the PCD and then publish it as a web service.

Then you need to create the .NET portal component that consume this service.

Finally you need to edit the content provided by SAP in the Content admin role so that when you launch the personalization component it will launch the new .NET personalization component.

This is what I suggest perhaps there are other ways.

I know that this is a very high level description but you could ask the portal forum for help on the java and portal content stuff.
