This question is not answered.

The original question was, "What is the difference among LCA, LDA, and LEA?"

The answer is NOT in the livecache installation guide. The guide describes how to create the connections, but that's it.

I've discovered that LEA is for table and record locking in Livecache, which I guess is new in SCM 5.0. Someone mentioned to me that LCA is used for calling the "com routines" or "LCapps", but I haven't been able to confirm this. Not sure what LDA is for.

If someone out there actually knows the differences between these 3 connections please reply to this thread.

Thanks!

LCA - original LC connection for APO used by DP, SNP and PPDS applications

LDA - LC connection for GATP where ATP-tree data is stored

LEA - LC connection for locks - lock logic enhanced in SCM 5.0

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

However, I have installed LiveCache several time. I just do not understand why we need to

repeat the SAME procedure 3 times to create LCA, LDA and LEA? What is their difference

in terms of functionality? In other words, what is the necessity to have 3 identical connections

that only differ in their names?

I notice that in the installation guide, SAP says:

For LDA and LEA you must not use an administration report. Also, do not use alert monitoring

for LDA and LEA.

I don't understand above statement either.

Please help more. Regards!
