MSS: Travel Expense Approval - "Approve has Failed"

Hello,

We are implementing ESS/MSS for Travel Expenses, we are able to view the list of trips in the UWL of MSS but when we select a trip and press the Approve button we get a message at the top of the iView which says "Approve has Failed"

Any ideas what might be causing this problem?

create a trip - Note the time

go to uwl - approve

go to backend to tcode SWIA

find the workflow you created

there might be 3 items for this workflow

one of them would have ended up in error

see whats the error in step history tab which is below (you will have this only in "technical view")

check if the error makes any meaning, otherwise post it here

First try to execute the workflow in backend and see if it is working fine.This will help to nail down the error whether it is in UWL config or workflow itself.

Sriram,

When we followed your steps there was nothing in SWIA that resulted in an error. We only had Approve Trip workflow "Started" and Approve Trip Data "Ready"

Also, the workflow works end to end without any errors in ECC, it is only when we try to approve it from the Portal when we get an error.
