Hi,

Hi,

PIR means Planned Independent requirement. It is nothing but a demand or requirement. It is your own plan based on future customer req .

After Heuristics run this requirement will convert to planned order and this planned order will convert to production order to start a production.

Hi Prasad,

Planned Independent Requirements are planned production or sales quantities that are based on some sort of forecast procedure (e.g. Material Forecast or S&OP procedure). These numbers are used in MRP to calculate procurement and/or production quantities for a material.

For eg,

You plan to sell 500 pieces of pen in the month of May 2009 based on sales in the same month of 2008. These 500 pieces of pen is a Planned Independent Requirement for 05/2009.

PIR is based on a demand or requirement element like forecast, sales order, scheduling agreement, etc., These PIR quantity will vary based on variation of forecast

This PIR can be either transferred from APO DP to SNP or DP to R/3 or can be brought from other systems. This PIR can be created manually also in system.
