Obsolete GL Accounts

Hi Guys

I am trying to get rid of all the GL accounts that have had no entries posted to it since the beginning of 2009...

Is there any such standard report that can give me this data?

Or else can I pull in 2 tables in SQVI and do an outer join on the Amount field??

Any Suggestions..??

Thank you

Rukshana

Hello,

What do you mean by get rid of?? You cannot delete a GL Account for life time in case if a single line item has been posted. You can lock / mark for deletion.

Run the transaction code

S_ALR_87012277 - G/L Account Balances

You will see whether there are any amounts in the reporting period or not.

Down load to excel and filter based on 0 in reporting period.

Hope this helps you.

Hi again

When I check the Check box 'Print accounts not posted to' - I get all the zero balance accounts too..

But Ravi, this report does not let me import to Excel.. is there a way?

Hello,

In output control, you have check box called "Print accounts not posted to".

Check this box and execute the same, you will get even the account not posted.

Dear,

Go to SYSTEMS>List> Save> Local file> Spread sheet and save in your desktop.

System => List => Save => Local File.

Select Spread Sheet. Say OK. Give the file name and your presentation server (PC) location.

This options will be there in most (almost all) of the reports in SAP.

Thank you both.

I got that going.

But I picked up all the accounts that have a 0 value in report S_ALR_87012277 and input that as selection parameter in FBL3n, and I seem to see postings for all those accounts that had a zero ..

How can I account for that.. there are accounts that show zero in the above report but in FBL3n, they show postings..

Any suggestions..?

Thanks a bunch

Hello,

This report is for a period time frame.

In FBL3N, you would not have restricted for any period, hence some postings in previous years appearing.

Hence, you run the said report for previous year, where you will see the postings.
