Support Packs

Hi,

We are planning to implement the support pack and Enhancemnent pack, as you know we have to consider the file system space, apart from checking the enough space is there in the SAPDATA filesystem, do we need to check any other file system space requirments, how do we consider how much space should be free.

We are planning to implement Support pack level 16, in the stack it shows the following software components INSURANCE, IS-CWM, IS-H , IS-M, IS-OIL ,IS-PS-CA ,IS-UT, LSOFE

and our company doesn't want to implement the above components as they are not using the same,

My question is can we leave the above software components without implementing the same and just implemnet the components which we require that is SAP_bais, abap, aba etc,in that case will the system have any inconsistency.

when we implement support pack SAP_BW in ECC system, do we have to consider any RFC connections and other BI systems. I think the software component SAPBW is compulsory to implement in ECC6.0 system.

Sorry friends,

Please help.

thanks

anup

You can't have file space requirements as such, just make sure that your redo log is switched off so that redologs are not generated and directory doesnt get full

you can only install SAP_BASIS,SAP_ABAP....and leave INSURANCE, IS-CWM, IS-H , IS-M, IS-OIL ,IS-PS-CA ,IS-UT, LSOFE,this will not cause any incosistencies as such but it is beter that you upgrade all the components

Also SAP_BW component doesn require a connection to BW

note that you must use SAPehpi to install enhancement packs. Do not use SAINT or SPAM.
