ESS: iViews with 404 problems

Hi,

I am currently installing ESS business package (50.4) in SAP EP 6 SP 2. We also installed an R/3 instance with data (HR ECC 500 on WAS 640).

Some iViews are rendering correctly but I'm getting a 404 error message on others.

For example, I get the error with iView <i>Paycheck Inquiry</i>. I went into the R/3 transaction SICF and find out that the service pz11 does not exist.

Does someone know why how I could fix that?

Here is the error message :

What has happened?

URL http://<myHost>:<portName>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/pz11/! call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.

Note

The termination occurred in system HRD with error code 404 and for the reason Not found.

The selected virtual host was 0 .

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for the answer. I am quite surprise to learn that I need to create sevice. I tought that ESS installation was not requiring any development/modification to components when they were installed. Do you know if there is something like a package that we could load to R/3 in order to load those services?

If you are using the internal ITS, you will need to create this service in SICF manually. You will just need the minimal "service" settings defined for it. There are some posts around here(SDN) about what to do. You don't need a regular Internet Service defined (like via SE80), but SICF still needs the service defined in order to know what to do. Basically, the call to PZ11 should pass on to transaction PZ11 via your service parameters defined in SICF. Make sense?
