Change Material Number Length from 18 to 50 characters

Hi,

My requirment is finished product has code of 50 characters.

Is ther any possibility of increasing the material number from 18 to 50 characters.

I really doubt that to happen

I realy cant understand your Requirement.

but see the didplay lent of the material is defined in OMSL

and it always 18 is max.

I have never tried this,since it is standard, to change it you have to change the feild length of the data element -" MATNR" which is standard and length is 18.

i dont know whether we can change or not check with your abapter for the same,if it possible

if so ,just change and check.

or else the best method is to define your own Feild (customized one in the Feild and add to the Feild selection and feild reference in the configuration and decide your length how much you want.

i suggest u to use internal no range and use description field for ur code.

lenght 18 is maximum. i doubt it can be increased in standard.
