Hi Sam
We use quicklinks a lot in our portal and the best way to use them is to display a taxonomy structure. If you open the Quick Link iView 'Links' and enter the location of your taxonomy or KM Repository it will appear.
There are more things you can do but that should get you started. Hope this helps?
