Contract Authoring is vast in itself

No one can give a 2 line explanation to it

I suggest you go through the business scenario config guide of CLM

ITs available under the node SAP CLM or the contract management part of E-Sourcing

Visit service.sap.com/srm

On the left you will get a node for SAP CLM

Check there and you will find a delta presentation and WeBEx session.

Download the file CLM_EWB_Presentation_Final.ppt

This has all the details as well

Also visit service.sap.com/ibc-srm

Here you will get a link on the left side called SAP E-Sourcing / CLM, download the config guide from there and check it
