T-Code QE29 when it is updated? if at the time of results recording then at the time of valuation or closed the characteristic.

QS29 is used for defining the number ranges of Master inspection characteristic. this is a part of configuration and has to be maintained prior to creation of MIC.
This is not related to result recording.
