MiniSAP/MiniWAS 620. Why is scripting disabled?

Former Member

Hi

I am a complete SAP newbie but want to learn something of the scripting capabilities. I installed MiniSAP which I found in a book. The version number is 620 and the book is dated 2005.

When I start SAP GUI and go to 'Script Recording' the item is disabled. In 'Options/Scripting' is says that 'Scripting is installed!' and 'Enable Scripting' is checked.

I also cannot find 'autosap.exe' in the install folder which I think needs to be present.

Can any one help me with this, please?

Paul

Hi Paul,

it's not sufficient to enable scripting at the front end, it also has to be enabled on

the application server. You can check this as follows:

- On any screen, choose "Customize Local Layout"

- Choose "Script Development Tools..."

- Choose "Troubleshoot SAP GUI scripting"

- Press button "OK"

If the status message is "Scripting is disabled on the server", you have to enable it

with help of profile parameters. Check this [url|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/ba/b8710932b8c64a9e8acf5b6f65e740/frameset.htm] to get a description how to do this.
