iView has timed out, click reload

Hi,

when logging on to the portal I have to wait for a very long time and when finally get past the portal logon screen I get a message saying:


The iView has timed out. There is no cached content to display. Click 'Reload' to retrieve updated content. You may need to wait for the cache to retrieve the content from the source.  Reload

The only options available are "log of" or "Personalize", apart from that the screen is empty.

When trying to reload the page nothing happens.

Any idea of how I can solve this=

Hi Olof,

I had once the same problem with my Iviews.

I solved it by changing the value "Allow Client Side Caching" to "NO".

But you have to do that on your page, not on the IView itself.

You Find the property under:

Content Administration -> Portal Content -> "Your page Folder"

Clieck on the specified page and watch the properties in the category "Load".

Thanks Dennis!

Setting client side caching = NO, seemed to solve it.

Would however be interesting to know why the the error message appeared in the first place, because I don't think it's a good idea to just turn of the caching as soon as you get this problem.
