NWDI components cannot be checked in

Former Member

Hello all,

The goal is to do some development. Soo, this is what was done:

In the SLD,

-> Created the Software Product

-> Created a Unit for the software Product

-> Created a Development Component under the Unit

-> As part of the Development Compnment, added the following development components as Dependent Components: DI BUILD TOOL 7.00, SAP J2EE ENGINE 7.00, SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00

The problem comes with going to the CMS (Change Management Service)

When going to the "Landscape Configurator", I

-> Created a track

-> Successfully added the Development Component to the track (I could even see the dependent components DI BUILD TOOL 7.00, SAP J2EE ENGINE 7.00, SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00 that were a part of the Development Component).

Then, one goes to the "Transport Studio". This is where the problems start.

When going to the "Check-In" tab for the track, NONE of the dependent components (i.e. DI BUILD TOOL 7.00, SAP J2EE ENGINE 7.00, SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00) of the Development Compnent are there. The goal was to check these items in?

Where are they? How can I check what went wrong?

If these cannot be checked in,then how can they be seen by anyone running the NWDS??

TIA

Hi,

IN the Visual Administrator , you must mention the path of the CMS Inbox.

all these SCs must be kept in the CMS inbox path.only then u can find them in the check-in tab.

Take help of your basis team.

Regards,

Satya.

Hi Satya,

I have been doing more research. I suppose that I did not understand why these components are listed in the SLD -- and -- when going to the "Landscape Configurator", under "CMS", one can see them as "Sub Components" of the "Development Component" that I have just created.

Above, you mentioned:

If you could provide instructions or point out documentation, it would be appreciated

As of now, it looks like I will be following the hints from this:

http://nw70.blogspot.com/2007/11/sap-netweaver-2004s-sr1-installation.html

as most threads seem to stress copying .SCA files from a diretory (like the one below) to another directory : /usr/sap/JTrans/CMS/inbox

Again, please provide instruction as to how to set it using the Visual Administrator.

As of now, I have the following on the box:

test:/usr/sap/trans/EPS/in/CMStestKXE # ls
