Any reason it's not in Vegas this year? Why have it in the desert and not be in Vegas?

Can't say because I don't work for SAP...but here are my thoughts -:)

We already had TechEd in Vegas for two years 2007 and 2008.

Vegas is way more expensive that Phoenix.

You can loose a lot of money in the casino at Vegas -:(

Actually Vegas is a desert too...a cooler desert for sure, but still a desert -;)

Greetings,

Blag.

I know, that was why I was wondering...if it's got to be in a desert, why not do Vegas again!?

No reason to be in a desert except for gambling!

Hello Jason,

We are very excited to take SAP TechEd to a new city. (We have held the conference in Las Vegas for the past three years.)

[Phoenix|http://www.sapteched.com/usa/about/venuecity.htm] offers many benefits to our conference attendees:

u2022 a [new convention center|http://phoenix.gov/extranet/pccd/pcc.html] that's modern and appealing, enriched with unique [art displays|http://phoenix.gov/extranet/pccd/pcc_publicartsscene.html] and enhanced by natural sunlight (Phoenix's most plentiful commodity)

u2022 ample classroom space so we can offer our full repertoire of [educational sessions|http://www.sapteched.com/usa/edu_sessions/home.htm] (most conference and convention centers do not have enough meeting rooms for our quantity of breakout sessions)

u2022 lower priced hotel accommodations

u2022 convenient access to a "happenin' downtown" filled with an array of restaurants, clubs, museums, and other attractions

u2022 gateway to the beautiful Sonoran Desert and it's wide range of exhilarating [recreation and adventure activities|http://www.visitphoenix.com/visitor/index.cfm?action=adventure]

We think you'll enjoy [Phoenix|http://www.visitphoenix.com/]. And we hope to see you in October.
