Gurus,

The rules for determining Business Area for each sales area -

1) Business Area assignment by Plant and Item Division.

2) Business Area assignment by Sales Area (Sales org., Distribution Channel, Division).

3) Business Area assignment by Sales org., Distribution Channel, Item Division.

What is the difference among - Item Division and Division ?

Item division is the Division of the material (which is maintained in the material master)

Just Division means the Header division in the sales order. We know that we can have have different divisions in the order header and the line item based on customizing. Hence the difference between the two.

Hi

By division generally we mean the header division

Say a customr in sales area 1000,10 ,00

Here 00 is the division

Item division means the division in MMR

The division to which the item belongs to and that is mentioned in MMR in the Basic data 1 tab and sales org data 1 tab

The problem will come when for a customer in sales area 1000,10,00 when you try to enter a material which belongs to division 01 in its material master record

Here the header div is 00 and item division is 01
