What is the difference between PA and OM.
Hi,
OM: Organization Management, represent the hierarchy/network/channel of the organization. And it has each object has relationships to each one. It is fully object oriented module mean each single character represent the OM objects like
O- Ogg. Unit
P- Position
C- Job'
T- Task
A- Work Center
P- Person, Holder,
K - Cost center.
PA: Personnel Administration, it covers employee master data( from employee hiring to Terminate in the company), thorugh infotypes will maintain the employee admin data like, organization, enterprise data, personal data, remuneration(Basic), bank data, time data etc., and business evets( Actions- Hiring, change in pay, leaving, transfer, retirement).Personnel Administration deals with infotypes and it has Master Data of the Employee and here we have to run the Personnel event for the Employeee, All the Master Data records will be maintianed in PA.
and this om is Integrate with PA in table V_T77S0 check Plogi Plogi , Plogi Orga.
Without PA data we could not go further in SAP.

Organizational Structure is basically a hierarchy of Organization and contains various elements including Organizational Units, Positions, Jobs, Persons etc. All of these elements have some attributes which are explicitly maintained and these elements are inter-connected. The structure serves various purposes including the reporting between positions.
On the other hand the Enterprise Structure is defined for Accounting and HR Administration Purposes. An organization may have tens of Organizational Units on the same level but not all of them necessarily be Accounting Entities. Also sometime one level of Organizational Units may have different types of HR Controls and therefore may require definition of additional views. Enterprise structure which contains the Client, Company Code, Personnel Area and Personnel Sub-Areas, therefore identifies the Organization from Accounting and HR Admin Perspective.
