We are looking to send delivery info to an external system where mobile devices will be used to pick deliveries. WM is not being used, only IM. Our intent is to send an IDoc to the external system with delivery info and send the picking results including packing information info back to SAP IM via IDocs.
It appears that this can be done using several different IDocs:
1. DESADV (DELVRY05) for both output and input IDocs
2. DELORD (ORDERS05) for both output and input IDocs
3. PICKSD (SDPIOD01) for output and SDPICK (SDPIID01) and SDPACK (SDPAID01) for input IDocs
Is any IDoc combination preferred over others for this external picking process with IM? Why? Any help will be greatly appreciated as we hope to implement the best solution. Thanks in advance for sharing your expertise!
Hello,
DESADV is sufficient . You can sent the pick information.
Thanks

I appreciate your input. What I am really hoping to get some feedback on is why DESADV is better to use than the other message types. I have used DESADV and the PICKSD/SDPICK/SDPACK message types in the past but am hoping to get some feedback on why it might be better to use one over the other in the scanario mentioned, picking with mobile devices using IM.
