Forecast consumption

In week 4/27/09, I've a forecast for 10 and week 5/04/09 the forecast is 22. If a Sales order(dated 5/7/09) is created for qty 22, it consumes the forecast from 5/4 completely. But, if the qty is changed to 11, it again consumes forecast from week 5/4 leaving the earlier period alone. Why would it not consume the forecast from 4/27? The setting is for forward and backward consumption and requirement strategy 20.

Sajeev ,

If i understand your question right then what the system is doing is right . You say you have a forecast of 22 for period 05/04 . When you create SO for 22 the forecast gets consumed completely. But if you change the SO from 22 to 11 pieces , it will not touch the previous bucket because there is still unconsumed forcast in the current bucket.

If you want to see backward consumption you should not change the SO in bucket 05/04 from 22 to 11 pieces. Create a SO for say 35 pieces in period 05/04 , then the entire forecast of current bucket and a partial qty from previous bucket will be consumed .

Thanks
