ESS picture Resources - how do I

Do you know where the images for Resources in the IMG are actually stored. eg

txn SPRO > Cross App Components > Homepage Framework > Resources > Define Resources... select the Add Entries option Select a picture eg COMPSPECIALIST_BUDGETING_PIC look at the details and you'll see 'money.gif'. The docs don't explain where this gif is actually located.

In the portal I can see it has a URL of http://<domain:port>/webdynpro/resources/sap.com/pcui_gp~xssutils/Components/com.sap.xss.ser.xssmenu...

I want to use my own image rather than SAPs. How do I do this in a transportable fashion?

jambo,

you shouldn't replace the standard-pictures. they are located within the webdynpro applications.

but you can overwrite the path to the picture-resource files.

you can either use a pre-defined server, where you want to place your resource objects (like pictures) or you can use an absolute path in the resource-object itself.

the help for "SPRO > Cross App Components > Homepage Framework > Resources > Define Server for Resources" gives examples.

an absolute path is not transportable. Can you use realtive paths so will work in dev , test, prod etc?

HI,

Maybe this link would provide some help:

you can use relative paths (except of defining a server for the resources - this task has to be done on each server in your landscape).

Solution was right under my nose... in the IMG help docs under

'Define Server for Resources'...
