How to set default client for UME in 7.1 system?

Hi

Prior to 7.1 I always changed the ume.r3.connection.master.client found in the configtool.

I have checked Configtool (Instance>Server>Services-->com.sap.security.core.ume.service

I can see the following parameters that start with (um.r3.connection.................)

ume.r3.connection.master.PartnerLDAPActive

ume.r3.connection.master.PartnerLDAPAdminPassword

ume.r3.connection.master.PartnerLDAPLogonAttribute

ume.r3.connection.master.PartnerLDAPServerID

ume.r3.connection.master.RFCDestination

ume.r3.connection.master.RFCDestinationForChanges

Hi Debbie,

You can find information on how to change the UME master client in SAP Note#1115280.

The first step under "Steps on Netweaver Administrator" (also shown below).

Logon to the NetWeaver Administrator with the J2EE admin user:

http://<host>:<hport>/nwa

Navigate to 'Configuration Management -> Security -> Destinations'.

For the destinations "I18NBackendConnection" and

"UMEBackendConnection" change the client in tab strip 'logon data'.

Save the change.

This has assumed that you have already performed the client-copy of users from the old (001) to new client.

You will also need to restart the J2EE stack after the above change has been made.

If you are changing the client for PI 7.10 you should be following all of the steps in the note anyway.
