Is it good to keep 3.5 datasources in 7.0

Hi,

I need to take a decision to create some standards at our co. I am in favor of migrating all the datasources to 7.0 and make it a standard across the board. However, I want to get some expert opinion if that is good decision? Please comment. Thanks.

Hi,

Modeling using 7.0 technologies greatly reduce modeling & maintenence efforts & costs. For a more complete overview of the technical upgrades, refer https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/60ecc07d-3a4b-2b10-ef83-c988e6ecabf6

However, i would recommend that you initially stick to 3.X flow, try out migration with datasources you dont use, and only then convert your setup to 7.0 flow. Nevertheless, migrating to use 7.00 dataflow is definately better in the long run, in terms of effort & costs.

Regards,

Rakesh
