Restriction of dates in marketing calendar

I have a business requirement to restrict the dates that people with various authorizations kan view when they try to access the transaction CRM_MKTPL_CALENDAR. Is there a BADI that can be implmented to control this or should one resort to som sort of modification of the existing report that limits the date selection according to user authorizations?

It looks like there is a possibility to implement an authority check using the BADI CRM_MKTPL, so this is what I am going to use.
