Quality INspection of Storage Tank Material

Dear experts,

I have the following scenario in QM.

We are a chemical industry. we have different storage tanks((TK101A)) for like caustic soda. we are making in process inspection and inspection at the time of GR and it creates inspection lot of 04. Now we want, suppose storage tank has quantity 100 ton before GR from production, when we do GR of 30 ton it will add in previous 100 ton and it will make 130 ton available in storage tank, at this time inspection lot of 04 will be of 30 ton as GR is of 30. but my client want to make inspection of 100+30=130 ton.

what can be the solution?

Hi,

Try with 322 movement. Ensure 08 inspection type is activated. Then inspection lot will be generated in 80 series.

hi all

i want t just make quality inspection of material currently present in storage tank. how this can be done?

also one thing more if you can correct, what is meant by Inspection lot quantity? is it whole quantity of inventory or certain quantity of material?

If you just want to do Quality inspection then you can simply create manual inspection lot with t-code QA01. It will cretae inspection lot for qty. assign Inspection plan and do RR, UD.

Inspection lot qty is the total qty, which you are considering for inspection. Out of this total qty you can take sample to do inspection as per your business req.

Couldnt find any standard solution. but just giving a work around

Activate inspection point in the inspection plan header. you may use 130 as inspection point.

In config maintain the following setting -

SPRO > QM> Quality Planning> Inspection Planning>General> Define Identifier for Inspection Points> 130> in fields maintain instead of container as storage tank (Number length 10) and in Number length 3 maintain quantity.

So when you do the result recording for 50L in inspection lot you can put details like which is the storage tank and what is the quantity input ( eg 100L+50L=150L)

You can get this detail and prepare a report also

in one process order can have multiple storage tanks. e.g process order number 500004 of 10000 ton. Confirmation and at auto GR 50 ton and storage tank A, 2nd confirmation and GR 100 ton storage tank B. it is like this.

Hi

This mean after every Order confirmation a new Inspection lot is generated. For Example first confirmation IL lot for 50 and sencond confirmation IL lot size 100.

You expects that if first IL of 50 tanks are still pending for UD and mean time again order of 100 tanks is confirmed then same quantity should get included in open inspection lot !

This is my conclusion from the interaction happened so far..

If this is addressing your problem then explain what benefits you expect by clubbing those quantity in inspection lot. Any how once you post to UR, stock status will be a accumulated tank qty.

This is an attempt to understand your problem and provide solution

Dear Sohail,

If your inspection lot is open and no result recording is done ,you can follow Atul has said.

If result recording is done and UD has being done then you cannot do result recording for total qunatity

Another way is you can create Manual inspection for the quantity in the storage and then do result recording.

hi,

here we are receiving production periodically like 100,55,98 ton in the different storage tanks and we can make 04 inspection for it. But here they want inspection of quantity currently in storage tank not on the quantity of GR from production.

quality inspection of storage tank with current level.

warehouse management and handling units are not in use..

Is the 100 ton which is already available in the storage tank is from the same production order which is also processed for 30 tons i mean is 130 tons from the same order

Is your SKU as Tank ! and GR happens in tonnes.

Are you using Wearhouse Management / Handling Unit Management !

Please explain complete process
