Hi

Iam installing Solman 4.0 SR4 on my test server

At the phase 28 check DDIC password i get this prompt at got stuck

"Test logon to SAP System N6P failed.SOLUTION: Make sure that the system is started, that the user DDIC exists and that the password of user DDIC is correct."

I have crossed checked system is up with MMC green,I tried to login with DDIC/SAP* to 001 client

and provided the password i have given during the installation but i get error "DBerror...."

I tried reset the password of sap* and was able to login to 001/000 client with pass, when i

checked sap* or DDIC users were not created so i have created them manually with full authorization

profiles and provide initiall password but when i try to login with ddic and the initial password

still i get the same prompt "DBerror...."

Did any one experienced such error before? your valuable suggestion are always welcome

Hello,

What patch level of SAP kernel 7.00 are you on? There were cases where the error was caused by bugs in the older kernel patch level. Update to the latest patch level and re-try the installation.

Cheers

You seem to have troubles with your database.

What database are you using?

Uday,

You have created DDIC user, so what is the problem. In your current installation logs folder you will get keydb.xlm file. Open it in wordpad find string : ERROR , check which one is related for DDIC login put [OK] in position of [ERROR] save. Copy sapinst.exe in same folder and Start sapinst. This way you can skip the step.

Thanks,

Suman

Hi

Tried all the below options but no success

I have logged in to client/001 as sap* reset the password of DDIC to 1992 07 06 and tried to login with ddic no success still same error

I have logged in to client/000 as sap* reset the password of DDIC to 1992 07 06 and tried to login with ddic no success still same error

I have logged in to client/001 as sap* reset the password of DDIC to 1992 07 06 and tried to login with ddic no success still same error

Is there any possibility to edit keydb.xml file and proceed further,i have opened the xml file as notepad and could see lot of entries but could't find about what exactly i need to edit to go further with installation

Will also give a try changing the kernel dump

Wel.. normally this issue gets resolved by reseting the DDIC password to default. If you still facing the same issue. then you can edit Keydb.xml.

You should just search for error in Keydb file and then change it OK.

Have you crossed the phase of creating of DDIC users?

If so proceed by changing keydb.

This should help.

wel.. i have installed older version of solman and the latest 7.0. Older ones didnt have any issues, but then 7.0 we are facing this issues.

If anyone else has faced the similar issue then we can comment more on this being a software bug or not..

I would suggest you to continue with the installation. DDIC and SAP* will be created during the installation. Dont create it manually.

After the installation, please update me if you were able to setup TMS.

Hi Uday,

I have faced this issue, and it seems like this is a bug in the system. I had logged into the system and had reset the ddic password and had set the password to default standard password (1992/07/06).

This should resolve your issue. Try to reset it to default password.
