'Save in Background' option disable in T-code: Mass

Hi All,

I want to do credit account grouping for customer through Mass maintenace in background.

But the 'save in background' option is disable in main menu --> Mass maintenace

Only Save option is enable there.

Pls guide how to make 'Save in background' option enable.

Note that this option doesn't work if you're using a mass upload file or from the clipboard.

Hi,

are you using a variant when calling MASS? from the field desc:

"Dependencies

A variant is always required if you wish to carry out mass maintenance in the background."

To access background processing, access mass maintenance [Ext.] and choose Mass

maintenance Background processing. You are required to enter the object type (for example,

material master) and to *specify the variant *. You then schedule the job to be executed at a

specific time by choosing Program Execute in background. The name of the program

executed is MASSBACK.
