Modifying std field of any std table(MARA)?

hi

is ther any way of modifying std fields of any std table like increasing the length of field NORMT in Table MARA?

If it is valid requirement then u have to search whether any sap notes is available or not?

Otherwise u have to use access key However use of access key means SAP will not support that particular area in future.

It is not best practice to change the SAP field as it can result in problems later on with upgrades etc.

However if there is no option and you have to do it then us modification assistent.

Another option is look for a field of equivalent length but not used by SAP or not used in your business scenario.
