Hi MDM
I need to extract data contract items or purchasing info records from SAP ERP system to SRM MDM repository using MECCM Transaction.
Is XI config to be in place as a prerequisit, without XI in place is there any alternate to extract the data as a file or IDOC and then load it to SRM MDM.
Appreciate your inputs.
Regards

he Hi Vickey,
If the Supplier- Material Information you are trying to extract to upload in to the SRMMDM catalog is in the form of idocs as given by the ERP system then only you will require XI/PI as a middle ware for the format conversion from Idoc to XML.
If you can receive this info in a simple Excel format then you can work without XI in the middle and directly upload the Excel file in to the MDM database.
To know more on how SRM intgration with MDM works you can refer the below links:

Hope It Helped

Hi Vicky,
You do not need SAP XI in the following circumstances:
1- You only want to provide supplier catalogs in a Web-based
environment.
2- You do not replicate product or contract data.
You need the SAP Exchange Infrastructure for the following data exchanges between SRM or
ERP and the SRM-MDM Catalog system:
1- Contract replication (upload from SRM to the SRM-MDM repository)
2- Product data replication from SRM
3- Replication of info records with material master data and contracts from ERP
SAP Note: 1057316
Import SAP NetWeaver 2004s Process Integration (XI) Content for SRM-MDM Catalog
Remark:
This step is only required if you want to use contract or product data replication from mySAP SRM to SRM-MDM Catalog or from mySAP ERP to SRM-MDM Catalog.
Hope this helps.

SK
