Material flag for deletion but cannot re-create under new plant.

Hi experts!

Need to ask you guys.

I've create a material under a wrong plant(2100) which have now been flagged up for deletion. I have been advised to re-create the material under the correct plant number (1100) but unable to do so as SAP indicates that the project code and local catalogue number still exists under existing material. Why does it happen and what does it means?

What is the impact if i just extend the material that has been flag for deletion in another plant to a new plant? Can i do that way?

Thanks.

Crystal.

Hi,

Flag for deletion will not completely delete the material from client. So you can't create new material with the same number in any plant. Since Material Master basic data views are stored at client level.

Exend the material thrugh MM01 to the correct plant.

do not create a new materail number, just extend the existing material number to the other plant.

Only flag the wrong plant at this plant level for deletion.

Hi,

First you remove the deletion flag from that particular level and extend the same material to your required plant by mm01 only. After extending maintain your deletion flag.

Hope this will work for you.

Please check first the material is flag for deletion for which level.

If marked for Client level(MARA- LVORM),then need to create a fresh one.

If marked for Plant level(MARC-LVORM),then you can extend the Material by using MM01.

There will not be any issue.
