Hi..think practically..can you have a bill(invoice) book with different serial numbers in the same book. numbers of documents always will be sequential..so its not possible to have many number ranges to one document type

Hi MVNR,

Yes, we can assign same number range for different document types. But one doc type can have only one number range.

Hi,

The same document number range can be assigned to as many document types as you want. There is no restiction on that excepting that we do not know how many documents we have posted for this document type.

On the contrary, one document type can have only one document number range. It cant have more than one document number ranges at the same time..

Hope this helps.

Hello,

The realtion between number range and document type is 1 : 1 OR 1 : MANY

The relation between document type and number range is 1 : 1

In other words,

A document number range can be assigned to one document type or a document number range can be assigned to many document types.

However, a document type will have only one number range, it cannot have multiple number ranges.

Refer OBA7 and FBN1

Ravi

Can anyone also tell please on what basis or criteria we assign the same number range to multiple document types?

I have a business blueprint document in which document types AB, SA, AA have been assigned the same number ranges.

Reply please if any one know?
