Hi
Does anyone know a "quick" way of change a client number.
We are currently refreshing QA from a backup of production.
Problem with this is after the refresh , QA will have the same client numbers has production.
I was wondering if there is a way to change the client numbers with out doing a client copy....or a way to make client appear a different number to end users.
Thanks
Jim
Hi Jim,
Unfortunately there is no "quick" way to do this. In fact there is no way at all to do this. (Well maybe in theory).
Not only do you have tables which have the mandt field in them.(You could of course update all these tables.)
The problem is that there are also tables which have fields which contain the client number as part of their string.
The only 2 ways to this issue are:
1. Do a client copy instead of a database copy.
2. Do the DB copy, but then the business will have to accept the client change.
I hope this satisfies your question.
Kind regards,
Alexander
