Calculaction Correction in BW Report

Hi Experts

How can i achieve the following calculaction in BW Reports

Col-ACol-BCol-c (A-B)

Row1--

Total----800---880-320--

Calculactions:

Col C = needs to be always positive (Col A - Col B)

Total for Col C = Sum of all values in Col C

Please advise how to perform this calculaction

Hi,

Try this,

Create a Calculated Keyfiegure C = A-B and it will give the difference of A and B.

Then try using Absolute function : ABS(C) : all the values of C will be positive.

But for the Total valuse of C : As far as i know by default the absolute function works only as display purpose while calculating the total it will consider the actual values.

I had the same problem in BW 3.0 but dint try in BI 7.0

In BI 7.0 ,create a one CKY Keyfigure at run time and use the excel funtionality to get this.

Hi,

You can use ABS funtion to eliminate the negative values which is available in Mathematical functions in Formula builder at Query.

But for Totals it will calculate the whole column.

Hi,

You are having two KF1 & KF2.

Create a formula based on these two KF, KF2-KF1 & in the properties tab->Display-> select positive sign only.
