Database is going into Admin mode

I have a customer where their database keeps occasionally going into Admin mode and it causes data to stop being written to the database.

One of the times it went into this mode I could just click Online through the dbm interface and it would just come online, but this last time, I kept getting an error saying:

Restart, Error code 6561 "dbm_command_not_possible"

I tried bringing the database offline and then clicking online but the interface was hanging and after an hour the UI just hung, but I could still the kernel process using resources.

I then finally got the database to come online after running the db_online command from the command line, but it took hours probably 8 to 10 hours to finally to come back online.

The version they are running is Kernel 7.6.03 Build 015-123-173-107 .

I am seeing these errors in the error log but the database did come online no problem on the 19th, it did not go into admin mode until sometime on the 21st or 22nd, he just see these errors everytime the database is restarted, even though it comes online. But eventually it goes into Admin mode. Any thoughts what could cause it to go into Admin mode.

Here is the detail of what is going on:

I hope this is formatted better: I have a customer where their database keeps occasionally going into Admin mode and it causes data to stop being written to the database. One of the times it went into this mode I could just click Online through the dbm interface and it would just come online, but this last time, I kept getting an error saying: Restart, Error code 6561 "dbm_command_not_possible" I tried bringing the database offline and then clicking online but the interface was hanging and after an hour the UI just hung, but I could still the kernel process using resources. I then finally got the database to come online after running the db_online command from the command line, but it took hours probably 8 to 10 hours to finally to come back online. The version they are running is Kernel 7.6.03 Build 015-123-173-107 . I am seeing these errors in the error log but the database did come online no problem on the 19th, it did not go into admin mode until sometime on the 21st or 22nd, he just sees these errors everytime the database is restarted, even though it comes online. But eventually it goes into Admin mode. Any thoughts what could cause it to go into Admin mode.

Hi there.

Looks like there are some problems with the logging there.

Could you check how many LOG_IO_QUEUES are configured?

regards,

Lars
